漢字地圖 The Chinese Character Map

All 8,105 characters of China's 通用规范汉字表 (Table of General Standard Chinese Characters, State Council 2013) — displayed here as their Traditional forms and organised by tier. Each band is one tier (级): Tier 1 covers everyday literacy (3,500 characters), Tier 2 extends to general publication use (3,000 more), and Tier 3 completes the standard with specialised, literary, and technical characters (1,605 more).

The standard is Simplified Chinese in origin; Traditional forms shown here are sourced from OpenCC's authoritative Simplified→Traditional mapping. Where no Traditional variant exists the Simplified glyph is shown unchanged. Pinyin and definitions come from the makemeahanzi project (CC BY 4.0). Click any character for its pinyin, meaning, stroke count, and animated KanjiVG stroke order (coverage: most CJK Unified Ideographs U+4E00–U+9FFF). Search by character, pinyin (with or without tone marks), meaning, or rank number (1–8,105).
